Forths are delighted to announce a further success in their Insurance Litigation department.
Forths Serious Injury Team were instructed to quantify the loss of net income of a newspaper wholesaler in the North West area, whose career was curtailed as a result of a serious brain injury suffered following the Claimant’s involvement in a road traffic accident.
In a somewhat turbulent marketplace for newspaper wholesaling, our Team were forced to consider changing contracts, together with sparse HMRC documentation, and utilised the Claimant’s detailed but disorganised underlying records, and bank statements, to confirm the accuracy of the declarations made to HMRC. Subsequently, the Team were able to prove that the Claimant, who was in the outset of her career, would have generated substantial income therefrom, had she not suffered the horrendous injuries she did in the accident.
Head of the Insurance Litigation Department at Forths, Anthony Flint, commented:
“It is a significant credit to the team and testament to the detailed work they undertook that in this matter, presided over by the Court of Protection and with QC’s heading the legal teams on both sides, a settlement was achieved with the figures calculated by the team being accepted by both parties, that will allow the Claimant and her family to move forward with their lives”.
